Kees Bouwmeester (born in 1955) started his career at Dutch Tax Authorities/Customs in 1972. He continued his career after more than twenty-seven years in 2000 as tax lawyer with Loyens & Loeff. After twenty years (in 2020) he continued his career as a free-lance customs lawyer.
Kees is widely specialized in Customs, excises, car tax and environmental tax. He has extensive experience in the classification of goods in the Harmonised System, economic customs regimes, determination of the origin and customs value of goods, but he is also familiar with export controls, sanction measures and compliance.
He is experienced in conducting (administrative) appeal procedures at Customs, regional courts and tax courts, Dutch Supreme Court and EU Court of Justice.
Kees accompanies and assists clients with compliance issues and voluntary disclosures of customs and tax declarations.
