Jan van den Tooren started his career as international tax lawyer over 35 years ago and co-founded Hamelink & van den Tooren more than 25 years ago.

During this period Jan has been involved in the tax aspects of cross border transactions of all sorts, from large multinational groups to family owned international businesses. Jan has developed specific expertise of the tax aspects of international investments funds whereby he has specialized in dealing with large impact funds seeking to invest in developing countries.

Jan has lectured in international tax law at the Dutch Tax Advisers Academy and co-authored a study on anti-tax haven legislation in developed countries published by the Dutch Tax Association.

Jan now fulfills the role of of-counsel. In this role, he acts as adviser to our firm with a focus on strategic client matters.
