Jan van den Tooren
Jan van den Tooren began his career in 1986 in the mixed international and oil & gas practice at Loyens & Loeff. In 1992 he was asked to join Ernst & Young to strengthen its international tax practice in this field. In 1997 he founded Hamelink & Van den Tooren.
In his present practice Jan serves various listed software companies, international companies with Dutch- based holding companies and energy companies. Private equity has become another of his specialisations, and he advises on the tax structuring of a large number of investment funds. International private wealth tax planning has become one of Jan's areas of expertise following from his role as adviser to a number of private founders of internationally operating groups.
Jan has lectured in international tax law at the Dutch Tax Advisers Academy and co-authored a study on anti-tax haven legislation in developed countries published by the Dutch Tax Association.
Jan is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the International Fiscal Association (IFA).
