Bas specializes in Dutch and international VAT and assists clients with both day-to-day VAT issues and complex cross-border projects. Known for his pragmatic approach, he helps businesses translate complex VAT legislation into practical and workable solutions.
Before joining Hamelink & Van den Tooren, Bas held several senior VAT positions and served as a Director at leading advisory firms PWC, Taxperience and Amgen. In addition, he founded and successfully ran his own advisory practice specializing in VAT. Throughout his career, he has advised on international trade, supply chain structuring, VAT risk management, tax control frameworks and dealings with tax authorities.
Bas obtained his degree in Tax Law from Leiden University and is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (Nederlandse Orde van Belastingadviseurs NOB).
